Villages Of Light

The Villages of Light celebration is an annual event that takes place Thanksgiving weekend every year.  The event brings the spirit of the holidays to the Twin Villages of Damariscotta and Newcastle and kicks off the Christmas season. Upward to 70 decorated Christmas trees line Main Street in the Twin Villages, and new for 2025 is a lighted lobster trap tree at Round Top Farm.  The bridge connecting the two towns is draped with garland and lights and wreaths are hung on poles throughout town.

On Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, we encourage you to shop and eat local for Small Business Saturday (November 29th) and then join all the festivities!

11AM Santa Comes to Town (cookies and cocoa) ~ @ the Lincoln Theater

12PM Polar Express (free) ~ @ the Lincoln Theater

4:30 PM Parade of Lights! ~ Main Street, Newcastle and Damariscotta

After the parade, visitors can enjoy a local meal in town or a festive holiday drink called “cup of cheer.” Come spark your spirit during this annual holiday celebration.
